Prestidigitech 3: Ultimate hat trick

“Nothingness haunts being, words are loaded pistols”

Oh boy, here I go prestidigitating again.

I missed a few quite good tricks that prestidigitation had left in it.

Improved Death Note

“A small notebook that causes anything written in it to disappear after one hour” – trinket 1 in mordenkainens tome of foes

Notice how it doesn’t say the text disappears. If we know someone’s name, we can make them disappear. We can also write “dragons” to make all dragons disappear, ect.

We lack “shigami eyes” though, don’t we? we can’t just know everyone’s name.

Prestidigitate the ‘sensory effect’ of the persons true name above their head.

This thing gets ridiculous pretty quickly, including deleting the material plane and so on.

Spellbook Pages

Trinket 5 in xendricks trinkets in ebberon “A single page from a giant wizard’s spellbook, bearing an incomplete spell”

We can use this multiple times and gain spellbook pages, with a certain reading, we can do this indefinetely and get every spell in the game into our spell book by scribing them.

Don’t forget we can make all the money we need by prestidigitating money directly or selling 1000gp spyglasses at a quarter price.

We could also just minor illusion spellbook pages and copy them or make the sensory effect of a spellbook pages on the table.

Literally anything.

One trinket reads “The favorite childhood toy of one of the adventurers, floating in midair” [ebberon, Mournland trinkets, trinket 1] With no other qualifiers. The Urchin background includes “A token to remember your parents by”, serving the same purpose. Therefore, if your favorite childhood toy is a catapult munition, we can make an indefinite number of them.

We could also use a ring of 3 wishes nystuld to be nonmagical for a level 0 God exit, but don’t do that.

We could basically get anything out of the minor conj guide, but depending on how ‘favorite toy’ is determined, it may have to be an actual childrens toy, and we might only get one pick of a thing to continually conjure. Knowing this, we should pick something incredibly useful. My pick is a mighty servant of leuk-o nystul’d to be nonmagical, but if we’re living in a world where seeing nystul’d objects in your backstory isn’t allowed, catapult munitions or ice troll hearts work great as a way to get past level 1.

With this I also point out there’s no size requirement for the trinket, and we can now prestidigitate a mighty servant of leuk-o. Prestidigi-leuk-o is real

We can also make infinite doses of starlight font water, for 7th level spells, or catapult munitions, ect ect.

  1. […] treat MTF1 [“a small notebook that causes anything written in it to disappear after one hour”] like Tom Riddle’s diary and not like Death Note. […]
